| Before starting to
created the design for Rachel's Candle, I asked her Mother 'Dana' to
tell me a little something about Rachel to assist in creating the design
layout:
" My 22-year-old daughter, Rachel Lynn Millhouse, was killed Feb. 20, 2011. Rachel was the "holiday/birthday" angel in our family of eight. Rachel loved butterflies. Her favorite colors were red/black/white. She found fun in anything, including working at Wal-Mart, sailing down the aisles on the shopping carts, fastidiously ensuring all products were moved forward and perfectly straight, climbing into a cart full of pillows, and getting wrapped up in bubble wrap. She was known at Wal-Mart by her coworkers as the "Energizer Bunny." She would walk into the house and say to her younger siblings, "Hey, Smalls," and they would jump into her arms. She literally FLEW into houses ~ rooms ~ work ~ everywhere. She turned heads wherever she went... with her amazing aura, personality, and energy. She was a 4.0 student. She dropped out of college after learning of her boyfriend's Stage IV colorectal cancer and accompanied him to all of his doctor appointments and chemo/radiation treatments. Her family and friends were the most important aspects of her life, and her loyalty, honesty, and forthrightness were a part of her strengths, as well as anger ~ tears for injustices to others or animals. Her laugh was contagious, and she laughed a lot. She automatically translated/interpreted ( her Mom Dana is deaf ) what people were saying to me, or what they were saying in a group, as she was very tuned in to my needs. She was intrinsically tuned in to the needs of others. Rachel also loved red roses, and she held "craft" days for her 20 year old sister and her best friends, none of whom were very crafty like she was. She had many huge jigsaw puzzles (some still not put together) that she'd put together over the years, and she glued them that way and hung them on her walls. She had the creativity and ingenuity to fix ANYthing, from relationships to big holes in walls (you couldn't tell there'd been holes when she was done) to changing the brake pads on her car (she Googled how to do it, and then got to work with the Craftsman mechanics tools I bought her for Christmas a few years back, which is what she asked for). I have six children, and I love them all, but Rachel was the Light of my Life... she was the Light of ALL of our lives. There is so much to tell; but this should sum it up: Rachel loved life. " |

| After designing the candle, I was asked if I do 'iron-on' for hoodies and shirts. I assisted my customer 'Dana' to find a company that could handle her request and I prepared the design layouts / images for the printing company. I uploaded the images in format that was acceptable for a quality print. As you will see in the photos below, the results are very impressive. |
